Welcome to Riverdolls Ragdolls.  If you are looking for a large, gentle, loving and affectionate companion, look no further.  We are a small cattery located in the southeast corner of Iowa along the Mississippi River. Our cattery is registered with T.I.C.A., ACFA and CFA I am also a member of the following Ragdoll clubs: RFCI - Ragdoll Fancier's Club International, RFW - Ragdoll Fanciers Worldwide and RI - Ragdoll International.  We raise only one or two litters at a time which ensures plenty of quality time per litter for large, healthy, well socialized kittens. The Ragdoll is a loyal and friendly feline who's name comes from their tendency to relax and become limp when picked up. Their coat is the softest imaginable and requires very little grooming. Unlike most cats, the Ragdoll prefers your company and will follow you from room to room just to be with you. Some Ragdolls even like to play fetch with their toys. Slow to mature, their colors may take two years to fully develop and they continue to grow up to four years before reaching their full adult size.
Ragdolls come in three patterns: Bicolor, Mitted, and Colorpoint. The colors available in the pointed varieties are blue, seal, flame, cream and tortie.  A striping (tabby) effect known as lynx markings is also available in all three patterns. We especially love the torties as the splashes of color can vary greatly per kitten and are only found within the torties.  Ragdolls are also available in what is referred to as the Non-pointed Ragdolls.  These Ragdolls come in the same three patterns: Bicolor, Mitted and Solid but the colors are endless.  At this time I am working with black and whites and have produced my first calico!  Please visit http://www.solidragdolls.com for excellent information regarding the solid or "non-pointed" Ragdolls and see some great pictures of these rare beauties.  These cats are purebred registered Ragdolls descending from the same foundation cats which Ann Baker used in the mid 1960's to develop the Ragdoll breed.  The only difference between the non-pointed and the pointed versions is the eye color.  All pointed Ragdolls have blue eyes and the non-pointed Ragdolls generally have gold or green eyes.  Both possess the same desirable qualities which make this breed so popular.  With their sweet nature and puppy like personalities the Ragdoll is sure to steal your heart!
